How to Choose a Divorce Attorney

Family law attorneys vary widely in abilities and style of representation. Once you’ve decided you’re ready to file for divorce, it’s important to find a skilled attorney, especially if your case is complex. Examine your attorney’s education and experience, and don’t be afraid to ask about his or her style of legal representation.

The initial consultation is one excellent way to start evaluating an attorney. Beware of any attorney who claims to be able to accomplish any goal, no matter how unrealistic. Also beware of attorneys whose rates are suspiciously low, as the cheap legal fees may cost you dearly down the road.
